Wednesday 21st May 11:00 am – Birkenhead Park, Park Drive, Birkenhead, CH41 4HY

Birkenhead Park was the first public park that could be used by everyone when it opened in 1847. There are nearly 140 acres of historic parkland with beautiful woodlands, grassed areas, many features were to a design by Joseph Paxton. Its quality is shown by the Garde I listing it has in Heritage England’s register.

Hannah Shakeshaft, a warden, will lead us around the park, the lower lake, showing us some of the most interesting features of the world famous park, explaining the history and hopes for the future, and answer any questions.
