March Event

by Sue Woodhouse | Feb 14, 2024 | events, News, Welcome

Tuesday 19th March 11:00 am – A lecture and hot pot lunch, Samlesbury Memorial Hall Cuerdale Lane PR5 0UY

In a change of format for us, we are holding an indoor event with a warming lunch, in March which can be a rather cold month.

The lecture, at 11am, will explore the story of Heaton Park, Prestwich, which has seen changes to its designed landscape with each of the Egerton family to oversee it.Thomas engaged William Emes and James Wyatt when all three were young men; John Webb came to make changes thirty years later, and then when the next generation took charge, it was the young Countess who pursued her interest in new plants. The conservatory was built to ground-breaking design, and is at present being restored. Elaine will present the illustrated lecture.

A hot-pot lunch,(meat and cheese options)with pickles will be served after the lecture. We look forward to seeing you all and your guests.

The price is £12 per person, £15 for a non-member. For more information and booking details click below
