At the last Council meeting Elaine Taylor retired as Chair and was replaced by Stephen Robson.
Elaine was co-founder of Lancashire Gardens Trust and became the first chairman in 2007, when the inaugural meeting was held at Astley Hall, attended by Val Hepworth chairman of the Association of Gardens Trusts and Kate Harwood, its secretary. The launch event was held at Towneley Hall in 2009.

The title of the project was Lancashire’s Local List, and the resulting report can be found on the website here
In 2011 Elaine handed Chairmanship over to Richard Jennison.
When he sadly died in 2018, Elaine once more took over the role of Chair and has served until now.
At the Council meeting in September Elaine was presented with a bouquet by Stephen in recognition of her valuable contribution to the work of the LGT. She will continue to serve on the Council.
