Holehird Gardens cover ten acres of fellside above Windermere and is an award winning RHS Partner Garden. There are stunning views over the Lake and the surrounding fells; the Gardens include a centrepiece Walled Garden and Reception building with herbaceous borders and island beds; and extensive Upper and Lower Garden areas. There are numerous collections including five National Collections of the generas Astilbe, Daboecia, Hydrangea, Meconopsis and Polystichum, as well as Hosta Mouse series and Tanacetum coccineum. There is something to see at all times of the year. The Gardens are cared for by the Lakeland Horticultural Society and maintained entirely by volunteers.
